Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: Slowness when printing to PDF from Microsoft Office products

Issue/Introduction

• Print to PDF has significant delay to complete
• Dialoge box appears showing 'connecting to printer' or 'accessing printer'

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: Versions 3.5 - 3.7
• Microsoft Office Suite

Cause

Underlying Code in pre-3.8 sensor versions

Resolution

• Upgrade to at least Sensor version 3.8 (Code changes made to resolve need for API Bypasses)
• For Sensor Versions 3.5 - 3.7, Create an API Bypass (Performs any operation) for below paths in policy:

**\WINDOWS\splwow64.exe
**\Acrobat\AcroDist.exe
**\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe
**\Acrobat\acrotray.exe
