Issue/Introduction

Does the CBC Sensor support Citrix Virtual App and desktop (formerly XenApp and XenDesktop) deployment?

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: All available versions
• Citrix Virtual App and Desktop (formerly separate product references as Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop): All available versions, XenApp and XenDesktop are older naming conventions for Citrix XenApp and Citrix XenDesktop and are now referred to as Citrix Virtual App and Desktop

Resolution

The Sensor does not support Citrix Virtual App (formerly XenApp) deployment. However, the Citrix components from Citrix Virtual Desktop formerly known as XenDesktop can be used to deploy Carbon Black Cloud Sensors.

Additional Information

Despite being merged into a single product unit by Citrix and referred to collectively as Citrix Virtual App and Desktop, the underlying technology of the Citrix Virtual App component is not supported by Carbon Black Cloud.  The underlying technology of the Citrix Virtual Desktop component is supported and able to be used to deploy Carbon Black Cloud software.
