SSO login fails with error: "Invalid single sign-on assertion"

Issue/Introduction

After configuring SAML user receives an error message when attempting to login: "Invalid single sign-on assertion".

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Console: All Versions

Cause

Misconfigured SAML settings.

Resolution

Accurately follow configuration steps for the supported saml providers

Additional Information

• If instructions have been followed for a supported SSO provider and the error persists, please open a case with Support with HAR capture
• With Azure SSO using the value for the "email attribute name" instead of the entire "Claim name" string can cause this error
