ERROR: "The uninstallation could not complete due to an error." or just ends OM Web Viewer 12.1

Issue/Introduction

A Web Viewer for USS or zLinux 12.1 install ends with the error message:

The uninstallation could not complete due to an error.

And there are no other messages and no logs in the uninstaller directory or elsewhere. Or it ends in the middle with no messages at all.  

This can also happen if you are applying maintenance.

Environment

• Output Management Web Viewer 12.1
• Unix System Services (USS)
• zLinux

Cause

Lack of storage to complete the installation or application of maintenance

Resolution

Here is what to do:

1. Manually remove any folders that may have been left from the install.  (If this happened when applying maintenance, do not remove folders)
2. Ensure you have at least 500MB (Update installer) to 1GB (Full Installer) free disk space and 1 to 2 GB in main memory.
3. Add a command-line argument to define an alternate temporary location for the install.

The System Property you need to set is:   lax.nl.env.iatempdir and java.io.tmpdir 

1. Here is an example for the install:

   java -Dlax.nl.env.iatempdir=<desired location>/tmp -Djava.io.tmpdir=<desired location>/tmp -jar CAOMWV.jar

   where <desired location>/tmp is your new tmp folder with at least 500MB (Update installer) to 1GB of free space. 
   
   
2. Here is an example of applying maintenance:

   java -Dlax.nl.env.iatempdir=<desired location>/tmp -Djava.io.tmpdir=<desired location>/tmp -jar CA_OM_WEBVIEWER_12_1_Updt.jar 

   where<desired location>/tmp is your new temp folder with at least 500MB (Update installer) to 1GB of free space.
