Linux Sensors Show Computer Name localhost

Issue/Introduction

Change the Linux sensors to show the actual computer name instead of localhost

Environment

• EDR: 6.2.x and Higher (Formerly CB Response)
• OS Version: RHEL/Centos 6.x and Higher   

Resolution

1. Edit the /etc/hosts file 
2. Add the computername and computername.localdomain in front of the localhost entries 
3. Restart the sensor  

   • service cbdaemon restart

Additional Information

• The sensor name will change once the sensor checks in, which should be immediately after restart
• If the hostname doesn't contain a .localdomain section then the value in /etc/hostname should be used
