App Control: The Agent Version Changes to the EDR Version When Upgrading the Agent With EDR Installed

Issue/Introduction

• After Upgrading the App Control Agent with the EDR sensor installed the EDR sensor no longer appears in Apps and Features
• Agent Version shows the EDR sensor version that was installed
• This doesn't affect the functionality of the sensor or the agent

Environment

• App Control Agent: 8.5.x
• EDR Windows Sensor: 7.1.x

Cause

The Agent Upgrade is overwriting most of the EDR registry key

Resolution

Upgrade to EDR sensor version 7.2 before upgrading the App Control Agent and this will no longer occur

Additional Information

The DisplayVersion value of the registry key can be modified to reflect the correct version if needed
