Issue/Introduction

The Workloads Appliance Certificate has expired after 90 days

Environment

  • NSX: All Supported Versions
  • Workloads Appliance: 1.2.0

Cause

The Certificate should automatically renew but can be renewed manually if needed

Resolution

The certificate can be renewed manually with the following steps
  1. Un-register NSX from CWP Appliance. Make sure to use force option
  2. Delete all CWP created certificates from NSX manager
  3. Re-register NSX from CWP Appliance

Additional Information

  • Deleting all CWP created certificates from NSX manager may include deleting the CWP account which is an Enterprise Admin
  • The CWP account will be recreated during the re-register of NSX
  • The NSX functionality should still work when the certificate is expired
  • If there is an error deleting all CWP certificates NSX-T support may be able to assist
