Issue/Introduction

Install or upgrade error:

https://yum.distro.carbonblack.io/enterprise/stable/6Server/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 22 - "The requested URL returned error: 404"
Trying other mirror.

 

Environment

• EDR: 6.x and Higher

Cause

The server is unable to reach the VMware Carbon Black yum repository.  

Resolution

1. Verify /etc/yum.conf contains valid settings.
2. Remove or modify any proxy settings:

proxy=<IP>

Example:

proxy=192.168.1.100

3. Verify /etc/yum.repos.d/CarbonBlack.repo contains valid settings similar to:

[CarbonBlack]
name=CarbonBlack
baseurl=https://yum.distro.carbonblack.io/enterprise/stable/$releasever/$basearch/
enabled=1
sslverify=1
sslclientcert=/etc/cb/certs/carbonblack-alliance-client.crt
sslclientkey=/etc/cb/certs/carbonblack-alliance-client.key

4. Run:

yum clean all

5. Re-attempt the install or upgrade.
