CB Protection: Slow Config List Updates With 8.1

Issue/Introduction

After upgrading the server to 8.1, config list updates to endpoints take extremely long

Environment

• CB Protection Server: 8.1
• CB Protection Agent: 7.x and Higher

Cause

• CB Protection 8.1 introduced some encryption steps for the config list updates.
• Slowness comes from issues with error handling around the encryption process.

Resolution

1. Navigate to https://yourconsole/shepherd_config.php 
2. From the dropdown select "GetConfigListThreads" 
3. Set the value to 1 (The default is 2) 
4. Click "Change"
5. Monitor to see if update speeds improve

• Bug is slated to be fixed in 8.1 P4, bug record is EP-6918.
• If update speeds are not affected, please open a support case for further investigation.
