Issue/Introduction

  • Rabbitmq service does not start when running 'service cb-enterprise start' command.  
  • Following message reported in /var/log/cb/rabbitmq/[email protected]’ file:

Environment

  • CB Response Server: Version 6.3.1 

Cause

Erlang directory is corrupt.

Resolution

Reinstall Erlang package with following steps:
  1. Stop CB Response services: 
service cb-enterprise stop
  1.  Run following command to kill any remaining processes from the 'cb' user: 
killall -KILL -u cb
  1.   Reinstall Erlang package: 
yum reinstall erlang
  1. Start CB Response services:  https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/CB-Response-How-to-restart-server-services/ta-p/41294
