Issue/Introduction

Steps to determine new Visual Studio CLSID versions and update the Rapid Config accordingly.

Environment

  • App Control Server: All Supported Versions
  • Visual Studio: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft OS: All Supported Versions

Resolution

  1. Log in to a machine where Visual Studio is installed.
  2. Open the Registry Editor and navigate to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID
  3. Locate the relevant CLSID and add it to the Rapid Config.

Additional Information

  • There is no automated method for updating the VS Rapid Config with new CLSIDs.
  • There is no list maintained by Microsoft specific to VS CLSIDs that we can pull from in advance of installing the product and validating the new version.
