Carbon Black Cloud Endpoint Standard (formerly Cb Defense)
Issue/Introduction
What is the purpose and expected use of the grayed out policies in the Endpoint Standard Console?
Environment
Endpoint Standard Console: All Supported Versions
Resolution
If the organization was created after July 5, 2017:
Endpoint Standard Console> Enforce> Policies, there are 3 prenamed policies that come standard 'out of the box' with CB Defense:
Monitored, Standard, Advanced
If the organization was created before July 5, 2017:
Endpoint Standard Console> Enforce> Policies, there are 5 prenamed policies that come standard 'out of the box' with CB Defense:
Detection Servers, Restrictive Mac Workstation, Restrictive Windows Workstation, Standard Mac Workstation, and Standard Windows Workstation
These policies serve as a starting point for Carbon Black Cloud policy creation.
Rules, Permissions, and other settings in these policies can be edited, but they are grayed out and "locked" because they cannot be deleted or renamed.
Additional Information
These along with the recommendations here can be used to create starting policies and tune them.
