Issue/Introduction

Install the Carbon Black Cloud Linux sensor on a persistent master image which will later be deployed to persistent physical or virtual devices.

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Linux Sensor: All Versions
    • Endpoint StandardĀ 
    • Enterprise EDR

Resolution

  1. Extract the contents of the installer package into a temporary directory.
  2. Use the install.sh script found in the installer package to install the agent, but do not provide a company code
    $ sudo cb-psc-install/install.sh
  3. Update the cfg.ini file with the v3.x+ company codeĀ 
    $ sudo /opt/carbonblack/psc/bin/cbagentd -d '<COMPANY_CODE>
  4. When the sensor starts on the cloned device, it will register with the console as a new device.
