Issue/Introduction

Journal reports identify verbs by a "verb number".  For example:

BFOR   SYST5555  09/24/14  20.39.17.64      1787812413   182290829
THIS IS A NATIVE IDMS RECORD
16  PG DISPLACEMENT         48 PREFIX LENGTH
1030  USER RECORD ID          92 USER RECD LENGTH        35 VERB NUMBER

Where are these verb numbers documented?

Environment

Release: All supported releases.

Resolution

The verb numbers are documented in the Call Formats (COBOL) section of the DML Reference for Cobol manual in sub-sections DB Call Formats (COBOL) and DC Call Formats (COBOL).

For the DB Call Formats, the numbers in the IDBMSCOM(nn) column are the VERB NUMBERs as listed in a JREPORT 008. For example, 35 is a MODIFY.
