Issue/Introduction

To manually remove the Carbon Black Cloud Apple MacOS Sensor, after normal methods have not worked

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: 3.5.1.x and Higher
  • Apple macOS: 10.15 (Catalina) and Higher 

Resolution

1) Follow steps in KB article Unable to upgrade or install due to existing system extension (macOS)
2) Once the steps in the above KB have been confirmed to have completed properly, open Terminal to delete our associated resources manually by running

sudo rm -rf /Applications/VMware\ Carbon\ Black\ Cloud/

and

sudo rm -rf /Library/Application\ Support/com.vmware.carbonblack.cloud/
