EDR: Sensor won't connect to server through a forward proxy after install

Issue/Introduction

Sensors are failing to check into the server after installation
 

Environment

• EDR Server: All Versions
• EDR Sensor: 5.x and Higher
• Linux: All Supported Versions

Cause

Proxy information was not configured for the sensor

Resolution

Add the proxy information to sensorsettings.ini file either on the sensor itself or in in the Sensor installation package

Proxy=[host]:[port]

Additional Information

• Sensor certificates must not be altered when passing through the proxy
• Linux and Mac sensors will always read the configs from sensorsettings.ini. Windows sensors will only use the information during installation
• In 6.1.x and below the location is /var/lib/cb/sensorsettings.ini
• In 6.2.x and Higher the location is /var/opt/carbonblack/response/sensorsettings.ini
