Does the Sensor still work if the WSC service is not installed or running?

Issue/Introduction

If Windows Security Center (WSC) is not installed or running (default on Server OS versions), will the Sensor still work properly even though the WSC service is not running?

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: 2.1.0.9 and Higher
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Server Versions

Resolution

Yes, the Sensor will continue working normally even if the WSC service cannot run due to WSC not being installed or running. The WSC Service only handles the integration with WSC and has no other impact on Sensor functionality.
