Issue/Introduction

Restart the Carbon Black Cloud sensor for Apple macOS

Environment

  • Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: 3.5.1.19 and higher
  • Apple macOS: 11.2.1 and higher

Cause

Resolution

  1. Navigate to Go
  2. Select Utilities
  3. Select Terminal
  4. Execute the following command to unload the sensor daemon:
    1. % sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vmware.carbonblack.cloud.daemon.plist
  5. Execute the following command to re-load the daemon:
    1. % sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.vmware.carbonblack.cloud.daemon.plist

-w Overrides the Disabled key and sets it to false or true
for the load and unload subcommands respectively.
In previous versions, this option would modify the configuration file.
Now the state of the Disabled key is stored elsewhere on- disk
in a location that may not be directly manipulated by any
                             process other than launchd.
