EDR: What is required prior to migrating a server between VMs?

Issue/Introduction

What are the pre-requisites to move the an existing EDR VM installed on an old server to a new VM server

Environment

• EDR Server: All Versions (Formerly CB Response)
• Virtualized Server

Resolution

• Ensure the new server meets OER requirements for the server version
• Ensure the network is configured so the server's IP / FQDN does not change
• Create a snapshot/backup of the server

Additional Information

• If the IP address / FQDN changes, sensors will no longer be able to communicate to the server
