CB Protection: CB Protection: Server Installation Is Hanging

Issue/Introduction

• New Install of the CB Protection Server software hangs
• ServerLog.bt9 file shows the following error:
  • (provider: SSL Provider, error: 0 - The target principal name is incorrect.)

Environment

CB Protection Server: All Supported Versions

Cause

Typically caused by a mismatch between the SQL server name being entered into the installer, and the CN from the server's certificate.

Resolution

1. Use the FQDN of the SQL Server.
2. Refrain from using local.

Additional Information

Using a FQDN in lieu of local can cause performance degradation.
