App Control: Cannot move endpoints in --Default Policy-- via API

Issue/Introduction

• Requests to move the endpoint to a new policy are not applied
• Sensors that show "Default Policy" instead of "--Default Policy--" move without issue

Environment

• App Control: 8.x
• Python API

Cause

Sensor was moved into the Default Group via "Automatic Policy Assignment For New Computers" setting

Resolution

• If the sensor is manually moved in the UI to "Default Group", the sensor can be moved via API
• From the API, add lines to disable automatic groups on the endpoint by setting object value automatic to false
