Issue/Introduction

  • /etc/hosts shows a different node / address for the CLUSTER-HEAD-NODE
  • /etc/cb/cluster.conf may show a different node than the primary node under the Master field

Environment

  • EDR Server: All Supported Versions
  • Cluster

Cause

  • A minion node was configured as the primary node at one point and the configurations were not updated
  • The nodes are still trying to connect to the minion node as if it were the primary node

Resolution

Update references to the old primary node on each node in the cluster
  1. Edit /etc/hosts to point to the correct address for each node
  2. Edit /etc/cb/cluster.conf to ensure each host field points to the right address
  3. Edit /etc/cb.conf
    1. Find all references to the old node
    2. Replace values with the proper master node address
