CB Defense: McAfee Fails to Install alongside Carbon Black

Issue/Introduction

• McAfee fails to install
• Existing bypass rules for McAfee are in place

Environment

• CB Defense Web Console: All Versions
• CB PSC Sensor: All Supported Versions
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Cause

Not all of the McAfee components in the environment are configured to be bypassed via policies

Resolution

1. Ensure the following paths are fully bypassed in the PSC Console

• **\McAfee\Agent\**,
• **\Users\*\AppData\*\McAfee\Agent\**,
• **\Users\*\AppData\Local\Temp\McAfeeLogs\**,
• **\ProgramData\McAfee\Agent\**
• **\program files (x86)\common files\mcafee\**
