Issue/Introduction

Events in the console with the subtype "Agent error" with the description of

"Failed to update Application information for this computer, SQL ERROR: Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string."

Environment

CB Protection Server: 8.0.0.2322

Cause

The agent is trying to build a list of installed applications for the Application Catalog. If the install date of the application cannot be recognized, or is blank, the error you are seeing is thrown.

Resolution

Carbon Black is currently tracking this issue as EP-1498, which will be addressed in a future release.  This EP value can be searched in the Release Notes for every patch and major release.
