Carbon Black Cloud: Unable to delete policy "Policy is used by one or more groups"

Issue/Introduction

Attempting to delete a policy on the Policies page presents the following error:

• Policy is used by one or more groups.

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Web Console: All Versions
  • Endpoint Standard
  • Enterprise EDR

Cause

This error is caused by the policy being defined in a sensor group on the Endpoints page

Resolution

1. Navigate to the Endpoints page
2. Select the Sensor Group the policy to be deleted is defined in
3. Select the edit icon next to the Sensor Group name
4. Define a new policy in the Group Settings section of the Edit Group page
5. Save the Sensor Group
6. Attempt to delete the desired policy again
