Carbon Black Cloud Endpoint Standard (formerly Cb Defense)

Issue/Introduction

  • System Tray icon does not reflect current status when Sensor is put into Bypass via Console
  • Sensor status change does take place (Sensor is in Bypass), Icon does not change
  • 'Allow user to disable protection' sensor setting disabled in Policy settings
  • In some cases, Bypass status may be reflected in Icon, until the bypass is disabled, at which point the icon still reflects the sensor to be in Bypass

Environment

  • Endpoint Standard Sensor: 3.4.1.7+
  • Apple macOS: Mac OS 10.15.1+

Cause

Sensor Local UI Bug (DSEN-7282)

Resolution

  • Upgrade to Sensor version 3.5.2
  • If unable to upgrade to 3.5.2, enable 'Allow user to disable protection' sensor setting disabled in Policy settings

Additional Information

Although this KB article states certain OS and Sensor versions, it is possible the issue is presented in other variations that were not involved in testing, in which case, the resolutions above should still apply
