Endpoint Standard: Delay in opening PDFs on network drives

Issue/Introduction

PDF files opened on a network drive are delayed upwards of 20 seconds before opening

Environment

• Endpoint Standard Sensor: 3.3.0.x
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Cause

This issue occurs when "Scan execute on network drives" is enabled - DSEN-3712

Resolution

• This is resolved in sensor version 3.4.
• As a workaround if unable to upgrade to 3.4.x or above, move the affected endpoint to a policy with "Scan execute on network drives" disabled
