CB Defense: Interoperability Issue With vShield Endpoint Thin Agent

Issue/Introduction

Loss of performance with application transfer speeds and in-app performance

Environment

• CB Defense Sensor: 3.3.0.984
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions
• VMware Tools: 10.2.5

Cause

Interoperability problem between CB Defense and vShield Endpoint Thin Agent

Resolution

1. Verify vsepflt.sys is installed:
   1. Open an administrative command prompt
   2. Run the following command:

      fltmc

   3. Confirm vsepflt appears in the list
2. Upgrade to the latest version of VMware Tools
3. Alternatively, uninstall the vsepflt.sys driver:
   1. Run the following command in an administrative command prompt to uninstall the driver: 

      fltmc unload vsepflt
