Carbon Black Cloud: Creating a new admin account fails with Error 409

Issue/Introduction

Error message: Failed to create user. Request failed with status code 409

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud console: December 2020 update

Cause

The latest console update removes the ability to add the same admin user email address if it already exists within the given org or another org elsewhere in Carbon Black Cloud.

Resolution

Email addresses for user accounts must be unique and not used elsewhere within Carbon Black Cloud. 

Additional Information

It is possible to use an email alias for new admin user accounts, if supported by the user's email server
