Cb Protection: The agent errors during install with Error 0x424

Issue/Introduction

• After launching the agent installer the install abruptly ends without completing.
• The Agent installation log located in C:\ProgramData\Bit9\Parity Agent\Logs shows this error:
  • ERROR:  Unable to open service 'ParityDriver' to start it because of error 0x424 

Environment

• Cb Protection Agent: All Versions
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Cause

This is caused by an issue with the Microsoft cryptsvc. 

Resolution

1. Log on to the server as Administrator, go to Start -> Run -> cmd 
2. From command prompt, run following commands sequentially 
   1. net stop cryptsvc 
   2. ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 catroot2.old 
   3. net start cryptsvc
