App Control: Why Do I Receive a Warning Prompt When Uploading Installer Packages To The Server

Issue/Introduction

Why do I receive the following warning prompt when uploading package installers to the Server?
 

We have validated that the signature on this file's certificate is from Carbon Black.

However, due to environmental circumstances we are unable to check externally and determine whether this certificate has been revoked.

Do you want to bypass this check and allow this file to execute?

Environment

• App Control Server (Formerly CB Protection): Version 8.1.6 and Higher
• Agent installer package (Windows, Linux, Mac)
• Rules Installer package
• Certificate Installer package

Resolution

Certificate Validation is blocked on your App Control Server

Additional Information

Per the 8.1.6 Release Notes:

Made improvements to the process of uploading Host Package Installers and Rules Installers when certificate validation is blocked to check against known local certificates. 
If validation is still not possible there is a new prompt in the UI to allow users to acknowledge the risk and bypass the certificate check for that file
