Enterprise EDR: Developer build jobs experience elevated CPU usage or fail

• Build job processes using elevated CPU
• Carbon Black Cloud Sensor Service using sustained elevated CPU
• Build job eventually fails

Environment

• Enterprise EDR Web Console: All Versions
• Enterprise EDR Sensor: 3.5.0.1627 through 3.5.0.1786
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Cause

This issue is caused by a defect in the VMware Carbon Black Cloud sensor

Resolution

This issue will be resolved in a future VMware Carbon Black Cloud sensor release

Additional Information

A temporary workaround is to disable Upload all new binaries to CB for your later analysis and download on the Policies page:

1. Log in to the VMware Carbon Black Cloud Web Console
2. Navigate to Policies
3. Select the toggle switch at the top of the Policies page
4. A green toast window will display Automatic Upload of Binaries Disabled
