CB ThreatHunter: Sensor constantly rebooting after installation

• Carbon Black Cloud Enterprise EDR (formerly Cb Threathunter)

Issue/Introduction

• Sensor installation shows as successful and the sensor is shown as running, but will shutdown shortly after and repeat the cycle
• Environment System logs show the message

The Cb Defense service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this # time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 300000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

• A .DMP file is created in C:\Program Files\Confer

Environment

• CB ThreatHunter Sensor: 3.4.0.780
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Cause

• This issue occurs in environments with older processors that cannot handle certain instructions - UAV-707

Resolution

• Upgrade to sensor version 3.4.0.820 or higher
