Issue/Introduction

Does the Bit9Exporter Tool work for agents version 8.1.x and higher?

Environment

• CB Protection Server: All Versions
• CB Protection Agent: 8.1.x and Higher
• Bit9Exporter Tool

Resolution

No. The Bit9Exporter tool was designed to work with agent caches version 8.0.0 and earlier only.

Additional Information

• Starting with 8.1.x, the CB Protection agent database encryption was changed to a higher level and the Bit9Exporter tool did not get redesigned for the new encryption.  
• Product Management confirmed the Bit9Exporter tool was deprecated after this change
• Carbon Black Support and Engineering are the only groups able to decrypt or export items from the agent database starting with 8.1.x
