App Control: Upgrade Error "Installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Appears to Have Failed"

Issue/Introduction

Upgrade is paused with the error message:

The installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Update 3 Redistributable Package (x86) appears to have failed.

Environment

App Control Server: 8.1.x

Cause

Newer versions of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages x86 and x64 are installed on the system

Resolution

1. Open Control Panel > Programs and Features
2. Verify that newer versions of the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Packages x86 and x64 are present on the system e.g.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable Package (x86)
Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable Package (x64)

3. In the error message window select the button to skip the "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable" install and continue with the setup
