Cb Protection: Licensing widget is showing evaluation with a production license activated

Products

Issue/Introduction

• Licensing section or "widget" on Home page in Cb Protection Console shows evaluation license has expired
• License count is showing "zero"

Environment

• Cb Protection Server: 7.x - 8.x

Cause

This is due to an internal server to server call that is using a Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). The internal call is unable to display the information correctly as it does not recognize the FQDN.

Resolution

1. Log into Cb Protection server via RDP or directly on the server itself.
2. From Explorer, browse to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
3. Edit with the appropriate permissions the "hosts" file
4. Under "# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.", add the below information
5. IP address of the Cb Protection Server and then hit TAB and then enter in the FQDN of the Cb Protection Server (e.g. <IP Address of Cb Protection Server  <TAB>  <FQDN of Cb Protection Server>
6. Restart the Cb Protection Server Service and Reporter service from "Services"
7. Log out and back into Cb Protection Console and check the Licensing widget.
