Issue/Introduction

How to manually apply the config list to a MacOS endpoint in order to refresh policy rules

Environment

  • App Control Agent: All Supported Versions
  • Apple MacOS: All Supported Versions

Resolution

  1. Open a Terminal and log on a 'sudo su'
  2. Turn tamper protection off
    cd /applications/bit9/tools and run b9cli command:
    ./b9cli --password GlobalPassword
    ./b9cli --tamperprotect 0
  3. Paste the configlist.xml file on: /Library/Application Support/com.bit9.Agent/data 
    cd "/Library/Application Support/com.bit9.Agent/data"
    cp /<Path>/configlist.xml .
  4. Rename the configlist.xml to configlistfill.bt9
    mv configlist.xml configlistfull.bt9
  5. Restart b9 service 
    cd /applications/bit9/tools
    ./b9cli --shutdown
    ./b9cli --start
  6. Confirm Tamper protect is enabled and the new configlist is applied
