Issue/Introduction

  • Within the System Health OER alerts, the SQL Server Edition alert has fired. Stating SQL Standard does not support over 20,000 hosts.
  • Unable to clear alert.

Environment

  • Cb Protection: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft SQL Standard: 2014 or 2016
  • Host Count Between 20,000 and 30,000

Cause

This is caused by a defect in the logic of the OER Alert. SQL Standard is supported up to 30,000 but only on SQL Standard 2014 or 2016. All other versions should trigger the alert.

Resolution

  • This has been assigned EP-5250. If you are connected to the CDC, when the fix is provided, it will update on your instance automatically.
  • In the mean time, if you require the alert to be silenced, a technical support representative can delete the alert.
