Issue/Introduction

  • High Disk usage when booting for the first time

Environment

  • CB Protection Agent: 8.0 and Higher
  • CB Protection Server: 8.0 and Higher
  • Devices with non-persistent disks such as VDI

Cause

Because the GUID for the drive on the VDI device changes every time the device is built, the agent is re-checking and correcting the drive paths.

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the URL https://YOURSERVER/agent_config.php
  2. Add a new configuration with the following values:
    • Name:
      Disable Volume Remediation
    • HostID:
      0
    • Value:
      allow_volume_remediation=0
    • Status:
      Enabled
  3. Save the Configuration
  4. Boot the Golden Image, allowing it to update its rule set
  5. Save the new image as the base template

Additional Information

If your VDI devices are in their own policy, the configuration above, can be applied within its setting to only specific policies.
