CB Protection: Surface Devices Showing as Virtual Devices in the Console

Issue/Introduction

• Within the Cb Protection Console, the description of the devices show "Virtualized" 
• Logs for these devices display they're running on Hyper-V instances. 

Environment

• Cb Protection Server: All Supported Versions
• Cb Protection Agent: All Supported Versions
• Microsoft Surface Devices

Cause

This is due to a known issue in the Virtualized checking logic. Previous checks for Microsoft hardware which used to be only Hyper-V related, are now being used for Surface devices, leading to false identification. 

Resolution

Carbon Black is working to resolve this identificattion issue in a future release. Release notes containing this fix will be listed as EP-6927
