What does the Rules Installer do?

Environment

• App Control Server: All Supported Versions
• App Control Agent: All Supported Versions

Resolution

The Rules Installer contains the rules which govern Agent behavior and is separate from Server and Agent installation. This could include changes to:

• Rapid Configs (Microsoft SCCM, Windows App Store, Linux System Performance, etc)
• Tamper Protection
• Changes to how the Agents identify Interesting (executable) files.

As improvements/changes are made to some of the built-in rules for the Agents or Rapid Configs these can be included via the Rules Installer.

Additional Information

• The Rules Installer only includes the previously "built in" rules the Server uses
• Running the Rules Installer does not affect or replace any Custom Rules created in the environment
• Install or Upgrade the Rules or Agent Packages
