Issue/Introduction

  • When installing CB Protection Server, error is received:
    • Warning: Using Database With a Different Build Version Could Cause Issues. Do You Want to Continue?

Environment

  • CB Protection Server: All Supported Versions
  • Microsoft Windows Server: All Supported Versions

Cause

Previous installation does not match installer being used.

Resolution

  1. Find what version is currently installed:
    • https://community.carbonblack.com/t5/Knowledge-Base/CB-Protection-How-to-Find-Current-Server-Version/ta-p/66314
  2. Contact Carbon Black Support and ask for the matching installer version.
