Issue/Introduction

Error "A rule for this file already exists. Please click "Save" again to confirm you want to replace it." appears when saving a file rule.

Environment

• CB Protection Console: All Supported Versions

Cause

File rule already exist for hash

Resolution

The only way to have two different file rules for the same hash is to have different states applied to different policies.

Ex.
Have a ban rule applied to ABC policies, and an approval rule applied to DEF policies.

Additional Information

There is no way to have the same file hash have two different file states for the same policy or at a global level as that would be conflicting information.
