Issue/Introduction

Is it possible to go back in time and see Sysview for Db2 for z/OS (IDB2) historical trace data?

Resolution

IDB2 stores trace data into its Data Collector memory. You can choose to keep the trace data in memory for later viewing,
but user started traces can not be directly stored into datasets.

For those who own Detector for Db2 for z/OS (PDT), you can use the Detector trace facility instead,
since Detector writes trace data directly to data sets which can be stored off for as long as needed.
