Issue/Introduction

Install log shows error:

• "(FAILURE) Install Directory Registry Value Does Not Contain Any Information. Exiting Install"

Environment

• App Control Agent: 7.x and Higher
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Cause

Residual files from previous installation of App Control Agent

Resolution

1. On the effected machine, open an admin CMD prompt
2. Run Command:

   msiexec.exe /i <policyinstaller.msi> INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files (x86)\Bit9\Parity Agent" /l*v C:\temp\Agent_Reinstall-InstallDIR.log

Additional Information

A previous Agent GUID existing in the registry may cause this, along with the following registry key not being valid

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bit9\Parity Agent\ParityAgentInstallPath
