Installation fails with error: MainEngineThread is returning 1603

Issue/Introduction

Install log shows this error at the end of the install log file:

MSI (c) (58:7C) [12:15:07:622]: Decrementing counter to disable shutdown. If counter >= 0, shutdown will be denied.  Counter after decrement: -1
MSI (c) (58:7C) [12:15:07:622]: MainEngineThread is returning 1603

Environment

• Carbon Black Cloud Sensor: All Versions
• Microsoft Windows

Cause

Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) Agent or potentially a different 3rd party AV process is blocking the install of the sensor. 

Resolution

1. Temporarily uninstall SEP or other 3rd party AV tool. 
2. Reboot the machine 
3. Reinstall the Carbon Black Cloud Sensor
