CB Response Cloud: Limited number of instances offline August 31, 2019

Issue/Introduction

The CB Response Cloud web interface was inaccessible, reporting a standard error saying that the instance was undergoing maintenance. 

Environment

• CB Response Cloud
• Limited set of instances
• Occurred August 31, 2019

Cause

Amazon Web Services (AWS) outage. 

Resolution

• None at this time. 

Additional Information

• AWS resolved this independently.
• Most instances were fully restored that same day, within a few hours.
• The final instances came back online September 1. 
• There should no data loss on those cluster instances because the endpoints queued their data.
