EDR: How to Uninstall using the CB uninstaller on Windows

Issue/Introduction

To manually remove the EDR Windows Sensor software using the uninstaller executable. 

Environment

• EDR (Formerly Carbon Black Response) Server: All Supported Versions
• Microsoft Windows: All Supported Versions

Resolution

1. Execute the uninstaller:

C:\windows\carbonblack\uninst.exe

 

Additional Information

• The preferred primary method of uninstallation is to uninstall the sensor software from the EDR UI.
• The second preferred method is to use the Windows Control Panel.
• This method is for when those methods fail or there are other problems. 
• The directory above, C:\windows\carbonblack\, is the default installation directory. Another directory may exist instead if the sensor software was installed elsewhere.
