Issue/Introduction

When searching via the command line for < or > characters the following error message is displayed:

Search criteria cannot include the following character:<>

Environment

• Carbon Black EDR Console: All Supported Versions

Cause

Searches with < or > are not supported

Resolution

As a workaround, do a process search utilizing two command lines.

 

Additional Information

• Example: 

  (cmdline:commandline1 AND cmdline:"commandline2 commands")

• command lines are tokenized by periods, spaces and backslashes allowing for searching on single portions of the command line
