Issue/Introduction

  • Error found when trying to run "cbupgrade"
    • /centos/6/os/x86_64/repodata/repomd.xml: [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 67 - "Access denied: 500" 
      Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: base 
      

       

Environment

  • EDR Server: All Versions

Cause

  • This can occur if access to the Yum Repository is blocked by internal devices such as Firewalls or Scanners. 

Resolution

  • Adjust local Firewall rules to allow access to yum.carbonblack.com:443 and yum.distro.carbonblack.io:443
  • Create a repository server to establish and download updates to pull from locally.
